Florida Man CHARGED With DEATH THREATS Against Trump, Rubio, Bondi
A Miami Beach man has been charged with federal crimes for posting repeated death threats against President Donald Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and former U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi across social media platforms. Nathaniel Sanders II, 32, allegedly used X and Instagram between January and April 2026 to make numerous posts threatening to assassinate these officials, including statements such as "when I get my hands on him, I'm gonna hurt him" directed at Rubio and claims that he would "bomb" the White House. Sanders faces charges of threatening the president and transmitting threats in interstate commerce, carrying a maximum sentence of 10 years in federal prison.
This case reflects ongoing law enforcement efforts to prosecute individuals who make violent threats against government officials, particularly the president. The Secret Service and U.S. Attorney's Office emphasized that such threats constitute serious federal crimes rather than protected political speech, and that they take all threats seriously regardless of platform or medium. The prosecution signals a commitment to holding accountable those who publicly express intent to harm officials, which bears on broader discussions about online safety, security of government leaders, and enforcement of existing federal statutes.
Sanders allegedly refused to cooperate when law enforcement attempted to interview him in February following initial posts. Authorities found no evidence that he took concrete steps toward carrying out any attack. His bond hearing was scheduled for Thursday, with arraignment set for May 18, ensuring the allegations will proceed through the judicial system where the presumption of innocence applies until conviction.
